The Klippel AUR software module is helpful for predicting the audible outcome of transducer design choices and establishing an acceptable level of nonlinear distortion.
AUR uses the large signal model of the transducer to virtually process a music signal played through a reference loudspeaker (one with exceptionally flat response and low distortion). By manipulating the large signal model, you can hear the result of a given transducer design without needing to prototype.
It is a great means of making a connection between quantitative measurement and qualitative listening. AUR adds or subtracts distortion from the test signal (music) based on the known nonlinear parameters and signal level.
