The Klippel Laser Scanning Vibrometer (SCN)i s a cutting edge measurement tool that lets you visualize how a device under test (DUT) operates throughout the entire audio range.

Have you ever wondered at what frequency the surround is out of phase with the diaphragm, or the SPL response of a given transducer? Would you like to know how much of the diaphragm is actually contributing to sound output, and how much of the diaphragm is canceling sound? Wouldn’t it be great to know if the diaphragm is rocking and in what direction?

The Klipple vibrometer can tell you all these things and much more with a single laser scan of a transducer under test with a chirp stimulus.

The scan results can be displayed as an animated 2d cross section or a 3d visualization at any user-selected frequency, with all vibrations shown simultaneously, or individually as in phase, anti phase, quadrature, circumferential or radial. This lets you see the contribution each vibration mode type is making to the overall performance of the DUT. SCN even calculates the polar response of the SPL.

The DUT can be anything up to 22″ in diameter and 12″ high. Warkwyn has scanned everything from subwoofers to micro speakers, even enclosures and microphones for various clients.
