In these days of offshore contract manufacturing and parts subcontracting it is vital to have a deep understanding of the material properties of a given part or product. Too often our clients don’t know precisely what materials are used and have no means of verifying consistency of materials over time.
With the Klippel Material Parameter Measurement (MPM) apparatus it is now possible to obtain the Young’s modulus and loss factor of raw materials. If you can supply a 1cm wide X 8cm long flat straight material sample, Warkwyn can measure it with the MPM apparatus. Additionally; spiders, surrounds, and cones can all be measured for their material properties.
During the design phase we can use the material properties to generate FEA simulations to help narrow the field of material choice. After production, we can sample to check for manufacturing consistency (would your CM change materials without informing your engineering team?).
